BANDEMONIUM CONCERT BAND

Bandemonium Concert Band – director: Ben McConchie

OPEN CONCERT BAND REHEARSALS: Tuesday, Feb 14, 21, and 28 – 7-9pm, SIMS Music Room

The SIMS building is located up the hill behind Salt Spring Elementary School on Rainbow Road. You can turn off Rainbow and drive up to the parking lot on the east side of the school, or go to the lot on the west side, at Park and Aldous Rd.

If you might be interested in joining, but aren’t sure if our group is right for you, please come out and see us in action! All are welcome!

The Bandemonium Concert Band is a community band of 35-40 amateur musicians of all ages. There are no auditions to join the band, however, an ability to read music and some band experience is generally recommended. They rehearse on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the SIMS Music Room.

Swing Shift under the direction of Derrick Milton

SWING SHIFT

Swing Shift Big Band is 17 piece community jazz/dance band. They play mostly swing music from the big band era but also a little latin, pop, funk and even a little modern jazz from time to time. The band plays 3-8 gigs a year on average, on Saltspring, Vancouver Island and beyond. The band welcomes new members when positions open up, and are in need of subs from time to time.

This new group started up in the spring of 2018, and was the band for absolute beginners. No experience required – all are welcome!
