Instrument Demo & Tuneup
Saturday 23 Aug, 11am to 12:30pm, FREE
Drop in to see the various instruments of the band demonstrated by Bandemonium members. A perfect way to decide what instrument you’d like to learn, whether it’s your first instrument or your fifth!
Also included – assessment and tuneup! If you have an ancient instrument in the back of your closet, and you’re wondering if it’s even playable, bring it along! We’ll take a look and possibly tune it up for you.
Improv Theory and Jam
Saturday 23 Aug, 12:30pm to 3:30pm, $20 (NOTE: time change)
Saturday 30 Aug, 1pm to 4pm, $20
Two sessions with Ben McConchie for Intermediate to Advanced players who feel more like Beginners when it comes to improvisation. A casual workshop and jam for all levels.
Reading Music for Absolute Beginners
Part 1: Notes – Monday 25 Aug, 5pm to 7pm, $20
Part 2: Rhythms – Wednesday 27 Aug, 5pm to 7pm, $20
Two sessions with Kim Thompson. For those who’d like to start at the very beginning… a very good place to start. This course is for singers or instrumentalists or really anyone at all. Perfect for total beginners, but also for those who play/sing by ear but would like to add reading notation to their skill set.
Adult Beginner Band
Tuesday 26 Aug, 5pm to 7pm, $20
Thursday 28 Aug, 5pm to 7pm, $20
Two sessions with Ben McConchie. Whether you are a total newbie to band, or are learning a second instrument and need an elementary level group, this is your chance! Bring your own instrument if you can, but if you don’t have one, let us know and we may be able to find a loaner for you.
